There Are No Excuses To Not Be PreparedPosted by: Skip Williams in DRJ Blogs on Sep 09, 2010 Tagged in: value of a continuity program

Lets be honest here, there really is no excuse you can make to justify why your business is not protected with a business continuity or disaster recovery plan. For fun, lets just run through a few of the excuses we hear:
- The software is too expensive.
- We aren’t at risk – what could happen?
- My company really isn’t big enough to need protection.
- I don’t have the staff to manage a disaster recovery plan.
Seriously, we hear this all the time. Hopefully for your sake, we didn’t hear this from you…. So lets take a look at these excuses:
The Software is Too Expensive

We Aren’t at Risk – What Could Happen?
Hmm, well really the question is – what won’t happen? The issue of ensuring that businesses and individuals are protected in the event of a disaster or threat is so important, that President Obama proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month. In his August, 27 declaration, President Obama stated "we stress the importance of strengthening the security and resiliency of our Nation through systematic preparation for the full range of hazards threatening the United States in the 21st century, including natural disasters, cyber attacks, pandemic disease, and acts of terrorism. "
So, like we said – what won’t happen? It doesn’t matter how big or small your business is or where you are located – you are at risk. Still don’t believe us? Visit http://www.disasterrecovery.com/bia/login.html and find out what the threats really are to your business.

My Company Really Isn’t Big Enough To Need Protection
This statement simply doesn’t make much sense… Any company at any size has assets that need to be protected. Not to mention that if you’re the owner of this “small” company, you want to make sure that your livelihood is protected and maintained in a time of disaster or threat. It is critical to remember that disasters don’t need to big – a power outage, a lost laptop, missed flights – all of these can quickly turn into something much larger and serious.
Maybe you still don’t believe us that your company is “big enough” to need protection… But humor us and download Phoenix Mobile – this is our free iPad/iPhone application. You may not be convinced yet, but after using this free application and quickly learning how easy it is to protect your company, we’re pretty sure you’ll be onboard.
