The Internet Connection

By Bob Arnold

Major changes are approaching on our website. Over the past couple of months we have been working on installing and setting up two new and improved web-servers. The new servers should be up and fully functional around the same time you are reading this. Some interesting changes that will be evident on our new servers are as follows:
•Faster Access, •Secure, Encrypted Transfers, •Real-Time Chat (IRC available through Java Based Clients)-Our Dedicated IRC Server For Guaranteed Speed, •Web-based Products/Services Query, •Search Engine, •DRJListserv, •and much more.

We have had numerous suggestions from surfers and would love to hear more regarding what you would like to see new or changed on our site. We at the DRJ realize your time is very important and we try to provide you with a one-stop resource for all news and information pertaining to the business continuity/disaster recovery industry.

On another note we ran an Internet Directory of URL’s in Volume 10, Issue 1. I will be updating this for the next issue of the magazine and would like to hear from anyone who has or knows of a website that was not listed in the first release of this ind ex. And now for this month’s hot-spots on the web:

Dept. Of Energy-Article: http://www.sustainable.doe.gov/pubs/emgpower/interrupt.html
Hurricane Resource Center: http://www.gate.net/~taifun/
Iron Mountain, Inc.: http://www.ironmountain.com/default.htm
Computing Japan-Article: http://www.cjmag.co.jp/magazine/issues/1995/apr95/04telcom.html
Raymond Professional Mgmt: www.raymond-rpm.com

I hope you find these new changes and this month’s hot-spots beneficial and please keep in mind that this is your website, so please give us your input. You can email me at bob@drj.com.
