SunGard Availability Services Expands IBM zSeries Capacity
Wayne, PA – SunGard Availability Services, an operating group
of SunGard (NYSE:SDS), has completed a $40 million expansion project
to increase the number of 64-bit IBM zSeries Servers and related infrastructure
available to its subscribers in hardened MegaCenters in Philadelphia,
Pa., North Bergen, N.J., and Chicago, Ill.
“SunGard is continually searching for ways to make our technology
and infrastructure investments pay off for our clients,” said
Ted Gaasche, group chief financial officer, SunGard Availability Services.
“More importantly, we’re committed to reinvesting in capital
improvements to keep SunGard at the forefront in our industry.”
This latest investment in IBM zSeries Servers increases by 45 percent
SunGard’s testable MIPS bringing the total to 18,155 across all
facilities. To further expand subscriber flexibility, SunGard has also
increased IBM FICON Express channel capacity, allowing subscribers to
connect from any zSeries mainframe to various tape and disk peripherals,
as well as new FICON disk technologies.
With FICON Express connectivity, subscribers can restore their data
up to four times faster than using ESCON channels, which will allow
them to significantly shorten their test times, or to conduct more tasks
within the same testing window. Most important, SunGard’s investment
in increased FICON Express capability will allow subscribers to recover
more quickly in the event of an unplanned outage.

New Digital Psychrometric Calculator From Dri-Eaz Does
It All

and Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM), the leader in outsourced records and
information management, announced a strategic partnership on Feb.17th.
This partnership will provide a complete Web-based backup solution from

Inasoft Introduces InaQuick Rescue Enterprise Suite
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Inasoft has announced the availability of
InaQuick Rescue (IQR) Enterprise Suite, a set of software products that
instantly restores data, applications and operating systems on laptop
and desktop personal computers without performing backups or data duplication.
By reducing the cost of PC support labor and downtime, InaQuick Rescue

Imperial Technology Announces MegaRam-10000
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Imperial Technology, the company accelerating
application performance, has announced the MegaRam-10000, its newest
solid state accelerator featuring up to one terabyte of zero latency
solid state storage capacity.
The MegaRam-10000 sets a new standard for a multi-location and enterprise-wide
storage resource. Geared for the most transaction-intensive and mission
critical environments, the MegaRam-10000¹s massively scalable architecture
is targeted to grid computing, life science and biomedical research,
large-scale engineering, and time-sensitive geophysical applications
as well as traditional OLTP environments.
The MegaRam-10000 responds to a growing awareness by transaction-oriented
enterprises that relying upon traditional cached arrays to meet transaction
levels is increasingly costly when utilization and management costs
are taken into account. Today¹s large-capacity-per-spindle drives
deliver phenomenal $/MB but performance per spindle measured in terms
of data access throughput has dropped correspondingly. Enterprises have
attempted to
compensate by buying more spindles per subsystem, which has resulted
in lower capacity utilization and increased management costs
The MegaRam-10000 is available immediately starting at $350,000.A fully
configured 1TB subsystem with 48 fibre channel ports lists at $2 million.
Imperial Technology can be contacted online at www.imperialtech.com
or at (800) 451-0666.

NAIOP Applauds Foley for Introduction of ADA Notification Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Industrial and Office
Properties (NAIOP), the nation’s leading organization representing
owners, developers and investors and others involved in industrial and
office real estate, applauds Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) for re-introducing
the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Notification Act.
Foley’s legislation would limit frivolous lawsuits by giving businesses
90 days to comply with the ADA Act after being notified of violations.
Since the ADA’s enactment, many abuses have been perpetrated against
property owners who may be potentially in violation of the ADA. Instead
of allowing property owners to correct problems, they have been taken
to court. There is currently no specific time frame in which businesses
can correct violations while being protected from litigation. NAIOP
supports Foley’s legislation because it provides the constitutionally
prescribed due process in filing claims under the ADA. Further, NAIOP
supports the original intent of the law, which is to provide equal access
opportunities for all Americans. NAIOP believes that this legislation
will strengthen the ADA by enhancing it with a due process provision
for property owners, so that they may be in full compliance with the
Act. While allowing for due process, the legislation preserves the rights
of individuals to go to court if the potential violation is not corrected.
