New Study Reveals State of Business Risk Preparedness in America
JOHNSTON, R.I. – More than one-third of the nation’s leading companies report they are not sufficiently prepared to protect top revenue sources and have room for improvement, according to the 2003 Protecting Value Study. In addition, 100 percent of the companies surveyed report a major disruption to a top revenue source would have a negative impact on earnings, with 28 percent stating such an event would threaten business continuity.
The study, conducted by commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global, the Financial Executives Research Foundation and the National Association of Corporate Treasurers (NACT), polled nearly 400 CFOs, treasurers and risk managers at both U.S. and international companies from a broad variety of industries.

CNT Completes Acquisition of Inrange Technologies Corporation
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – CNT (Nasdaq: CMNT), the global expert in storage networking, has announced the completion of the acquisition of Inrange Technologies Corporation. CNT expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings per share by at least 10 percent in 2003 and to achieve annual cost savings of between $10 and $15 million to be fully phased in by early 2004. Sony Extends 500gb Sait Technology To New Branded Drives

‘Electronic Alcatraz’ Goes Live
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – DataChambers, a new company committed to preserving its clients’ data and keeping their businesses running despite any kind of natural or man-made disaster, became operational on March 17 in the site of the former AT&T complex.
A few other companies in the United States and abroad offer data storage and business continuity services, but no company can match the level of security and amenities of DataChambers, said Lawrence Boening, president and chief operating officer. “DataChambers is in the business of preserving business. We are well-equipped to handle any emergency or disaster that could place clients’ information and operations in jeopardy. You might call us a kind of ‘electronic Alcatraz’.”
Security features include armed, military-trained guards, data storage in an underground “bunker” with hidden cameras throughout, and biometric palm scanners for access to some areas. In addition, the building provides 80,000 square feet of office space – with room for expansion – where entire companies could move their operations if they had to evacuate their own buildings, Boening said.
The company was conceptualized in 2001, and it opened with more than 20 clients already on board. For obvious security reasons, DataChambers is bound by contract not to reveal the names of most clients. The company presently employs 18 people and expects to grow to about 130 employees within the next three years.

State Street’s Kansas City Office Relies On CNT To Provide Complete, Cost-Effective Tape Vaulting Solution
