Consulting and NYU Develop New Business Continuity Curriculum
RESTON, Va. – COOP Consulting has announced a new collaboration
with New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional
Studies (NYU SCPS) to help develop curriculum for “Introduction
to Business Continuity Planning,” a course that is the first part
of the school’s new professional certificate program in business
continuity planning. COOP Consulting CEO Chris Alvord, a nationally-recognized
expert in the field who will join NYU SCPS as an adjunct faculty member,
will teach the course which is scheduled to start on Sept. 22, 2004.
“Introduction to Business Continuity Planning” is an intensive
four-day program, designed to familiarize private-sector executives
with critical business continuity skills. Among the topics to be covered
are developing disaster management and emergency plans; coordinating
with public agencies; and understanding the basics of the NFPA 1600
standard, recently recommended by the Presidential 9/11 Commission’s

Announces 2004 Grant Program
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Dialogic Communications Corporation (DCC), the

Rescues Draka USA from Costly Disruption in Operations
Waltham, Mass. – It was 6 p.m. on a Wednesday when Draka USA,
the world’s fifth largest manufacturer of cables, learned that
their Pennsylvania manufacturing facility had a serious fire. With six
locations in the United States, Draka was previously challenged with
data backups due to lack of resources at remote sites, instead they
now rely on AmeriVault’s proven online backup solution to automate
the daily backups of each remote site and manage the process from a
centralized desktop. When fire struck, Draka immediately alerted the

through their facility, destroying wiring that made the network useless.
