Twenty First Century Communication Launches New Mass Notification System

Easier to use system includes new user interface, advanced security controls, and social media integration

Columbus, Ohio, June 1, 2010: Twenty First Century Communications (TFCC) announces the release of TFCC Alert®, the newest version of its mass notification system. New advanced alerting capabilities improve communications, increase the effectiveness of emergency efforts, and ultimately reduce the costs of a traditional communications infrastructure.

With the TFCC Alert mass notification system, corporate and business continuity clients can send targeted messages to select groups by landline, cell phone, VoIP phone, PDA, pager, text, email, fax and TTY/TDD machines.

Jim Curran, chief technology officer for TFCC reports, “Our research and development process includes extensive work with corporate, government, utility, education and healthcare clients who use our mass notification system every day. TFCC Alert is a blend of ideas and requests from customers, our product development team and our client management team.

TFCC Alert includes a new user interface.  The task based workflow and one-page quick launch make sending notifications stress-free.  Users now select the type of message they’d like to send and TFCC Alert will present only the options needed for the particular message type.

Lynn Diebold , Director of Emergency Communications for Monterey County, CA has previewed the system and said, “I like that the activation and creation process is uncluttered, and that the default options are customizable and can be changed based on my needs.”

TFCC Alert allows for an unlimited number of users and includes a flexible array of user profiles with different permissions, access and visibility restrictions.  The system also allows for limitless security groups and provides clients with the ability to self-manage their groups.

“TFCC Alert is straight forward and simple. I’m very pleased that the activation process takes one page instead of multiple pages. The new look is much cleaner,” said Bob Armstrong, Director, Emergency Management & Fire Prevention for the Ohio State University.

TFCC Alert is backed by Twenty First Century Communications’ client care commitment.  Each client is partnered with a dedicated client manager and supported by a live 24/7/365 Help Desk.  Clients also have access to the new online Resource Center featuring best practices, FAQ’s, sample operating procedures, training exercises and much more.  All of this is in addition to the enhanced Online Help, a searchable online database of easy-to-find technical help.

eBRP Solutions

ebrp_1.jpg

About eBRP Solutions

eBRP Solutions is a product company. We design, develop and provide web-based tools to help organizations do a better job of managing their BCM and Enterprise Risk Management requirements. Incorporating standard reports for Audit and Compliance, and with automatic Review Dates with email Reminders; the Toolkit Suite was designed to reduce the administrative, logistical and management overhead of a typical BCM program – freeing Planners to refocus their resources on identifying and mitigating gaps and vulnerabilities.

eBRP.net

eBRP Solutions is the Thought Leader in Business Continuity Management.

While others follow the conventional wisdom, eBRP has continuously forged a new path – seeking input from DR, BC and Risk Managers to develop tools to help organizations advance their needs.

eBRP was the first to:

  • Introduce Process Modeling as a BCM concept that goes far beyond the capabilities of a traditional BIA.

  • Promote the value of Dependency Mapping as a knowledge tool for both BC/DR Planning and Enterprise Risk Management.

  • License its BCM software for Unlimited Users - giving BCM programs the freedom to expand at their own pace, at no additional cost.

  • Pioneer Technology Modeling as a means of mapping IT Applications and systems from their dependent components (hardware, software, networks, etc.) to the Business Processes that depend on them.

  • Focus on Asset-based Risk Management (rather than simply writing plans) as the key to robust BCM program capabilities.

  • Incorporate Supply Chain Modeling & Risk Analysis as part of the larger BCM program in support of Enterprise Risk Management.

The Toolkit Suite of fully integrated modules includes:

  • CommandCentre (Real-time Incident Management)

  • eRAPS (Enterprise Risk Assessment for Products and Services)

  • Integrated Notification using email & Automated Voice Notification

  • Interactive GIS to map and conduct “what if?” geospatial analyses

  • BlackBerry Integration to access plans from anywhere, anytime

  • Work Area Recovery Planning for graphical views of alternate workspace utilization

  • Plan Approval Workflow to assure signoff and version controls

If you:

  • Realize that simply maintaining BC and DR plans isn’t enough

  • Understand that updating your BIA every year doesn’t’ provide sufficient value

Then it is time to:

  • Modernize your BCM program from plan-centric to risk-centric

  • Stop concentrating solely on plans and start focusing on business intelligence

  • Support your organization’s Enterprise Risk Management efforts

To energize your BCM program – and see how you can use the power of Toolkit Suite to become more valuable within your organization - visit us at www.eBRP.net, or contact us at info@eBRP.net

It’s finally time to take your BCM program to the next level – with Toolkit Suite.

eBRP.net

Does your Business Continuity Management or Enterprise Risk Management utility provide your organization with:

Process and Organizational Modeling tools - to identify risks and exposures and their potential impacts, to visualize dependencies and to create actionable plans to meet any potential disruption?

Technology Modeling tools - to identify end-to-end dependencies among IT systems and Business Processes?

Supply-Chain Risk Analysis tools - to identify single points of failure, supplier over-reliance, bottlenecks, weak points and potential risks (both vertically and horizontally) across supply chains?

Command, Control & Communication tools - for real-time, online Incident Management decision support, collaboration and monitoring?

If you answered No to any of those questions, you are not alone.

That’s why the Thought Leaders at eBRP developed the Toolkit Suite: to provide its diverse clients all of those tools in a single, web-based package. Much, much more than a typical BCM planning tool, the Toolkit Suite provides support for Enterprise Risk Management - helping organizations understand their operational risks, evaluate their exposures and weigh actions to manage & monitor those exposures.

Today’s BCM professionals need to move their focus from residual risks to operational risk. With shrinking budgets, BCM professionals need to seek out the potential value in Business Continuity Management - analyzing, monitoring and mitigating operational risks, and playing a vital role in managing day-to-day operational disruptions. If your BCM program is ever going to move from the status of a simple ‘insurance policy’ to a role providing true operational value, you must change your focus and acquire new skills & tools.

In today’s globalized business environment, change is nearly constant and new risks continue to arise. For most Business Continuity professionals change and risk sometimes seem to come from every direction at once:

  • Record winter storms and flooding in Europe and US cities

  • The threat of avian flu pandemic shifted to H1N1

  • Business bankruptcies in the US up 63% in 2009

  • Earthquakes in Haiti and Chile

  • Vulnerabilities due to dependencies on global markets and suppliers

Coping with the speed and frequency of unanticipated changes and risks requires a change in focus. Plans for ‘disaster’ (smoke and rubble impacts) fall far short of meeting the need to address potential operational risks and operational failures. Toolkit provides BCM professionals the tools to meet the needs of today’s evolving business world.

Company

Avalution is a U.S. based consulting firm specializing in business continuity strategy design, development, implementation and long-term program maintenance.

Avalution is also recognized as a participant BSI Americas Associate Consultant Program (ACP). BSI Americas administers the ACP program in order to provide a list of consulting organizations who are "credible and offer an acceptable service in terms of value and performance.” As a certified firm, Avalution assists in preparing organizations for BS 25999 certification as well as assessing readiness for the certification process.

As of January 2009, members of Avalution's team were also certified as BS 25999 Lead Auditors, which allows individuals to "conduct and lead effective business continuity management system audits in accordance with the requirements of BS 25999-2:2007 and ISO 19011:2002..."

What Makes Us Different?

Our team believes that you deserve a business continuity program tailored specifically to fit the unique needs of your organization – meaning that your organization is the starting point for everything we do. As a result, our analysis, recommendations, plans and exercises are never justified by generic “best practices” alone – instead, we combine our experience and knowledge with a deep understanding of your organization to create a continuity program that best manages your risk.

Industry Experience Matters

Not only does Avalution have deep experience in all aspects of business continuity management, but our firm has served the unique needs of organizations in nearly all levels of government, as well as across every industry group. These experiences give us a “head start”, avoiding the situation where costly mistakes are made when focusing on the wrong aspects of the business. We recognize every organization is unique – but we also understand what makes each industry segment tick. This knowledge positions our consulting teams to deliver recommendations supported by what “others are doing”. Leveraging our knowledge and experiences saves our clients time and money – and results in credible solutions.

Customizable Business Continuity Software

Business continuity software purchases often disappoint. Package A is a 60% fit when compared to existing business continuity processes – but if we go this route, we have to change processes that have proven to be effective since the software lacks flexibility. Package B could work, but it’s too complex. And then there’s Package C – we simply can’t afford the initial cost, let alone the time and resources necessary to customize it.

Avalution’s team (with significant input from our diverse client base) developed a flexible, cost-effective platform that conforms to your most effective business continuity processes. This capability allows your team of professionals to customize virtually all aspects of the functionality, reporting and layout. We call this solution The Planning Portal. Its integrated training saves travel time and expense, and its familiar format decreases confusion and increases confidence, leading to higher usage levels. Above all else – it works well for everyone.

Key Focus - Certification Readiness - BS 25999

The business continuity industry is rapidly maturing. Regulatory requirements require action in many industries, customers are demanding business continuity protection from key suppliers, and a focus on corporate governance is leading to additional inquiries from the most senior business executives. Recent crises have also demonstrated the need for all entities - public and private - to prepare and work together in order to increase the likelihood of an effective response.

In this environment, organizational certification has emerged as a method of demonstrating commitment and readiness to key stakeholders. BS 25999, launched in November 2007 (www.bsiamericas.com), is one such example, as is existing ISO standards governing issues such as information security (ISO 27001). In the United States, Title IX is emerging as another example of voluntary certification.

DRJ Partners With BCPWHO

logo.gifDisaster Recovery Journal and Business Continuity Planning Workgroup for Healthcare Organizations (BCPWHO) have partnered to raise awareness on business continuity and disaster recovery issues in the healthcare industry. The healthcare industry is a fast-growing segment that faces many challenges when tackling data storage, regulatory and compliance standards, privacy issues and more. It is imperative that planning professionals remain up to date on the latest information, methodologies and technologies.

This partnership will serve as an information portal for planners and will offer many benefits for anyone in the healthcare business continuity and disaster recovery fields.

According to Bob Arnold, president of DRJ, the information will be disseminated through DRJ’s online site, the magazine and through annual conferences.

“Healthcare is such a critical component of our infrastructure. It is imperative that this sector remain well protected against any risk.  The recent pandemic has again reminded us how important it is to protect that resource.  We hope in this new partnership with BCPWHO we can share the knowledge needed to those tasked in the healthcare industry on how best to protect their organizations”,  said Arnold.

BCPWHO will provide exclusive online articles throughout 2010. These will appear on drj.com. In addition, two articles will appear in editions of the Disaster Recovery Journal. Other information could include White Papers, surveys, newsletters and conference presentations.

“With the move to electronic medical records,  the increasing number of events requiring contingency planning responses, such as ‘surge’ situations , and more stringent regulatory compliance guidelines for protecting the medical records, it is imperative that we be prepared for ‘all hazards’, says Bill Rider, President of BCPWHO,, “ We are pleased that through our partnership with DRJ our members will have access to additional resources to ensure healthcare continuity programs are in place to care for the communities we serve.”

Healthcare professionals and those in related industries are encouraged to visit the healthcare industry portal often. Participation in surveys, white papers and more will build the information-sharing opportunities in the healthcare industry.
