If Your Plan Could Talk, What Would It Tell You?

Norm Harris
Harris Disaster Recovery Inc.

Mr. Harris will discuss tried and tested ways to ensure your plan agrees with your plan objectives. Management plays a big role, but doesn’t always specify what a plan should do. Learn the vital signs you should look for before, during and after the plan development. This session is designed to guide you through the rough spots and present ways to recognize the danger signs. If your plan were ever called upon to meet its planned objectives and if it could talk, it would say “I am ready when you need me.” We all know that many plans today could not say that.
Mr. Harris, Certified Recovery Planner, chairman, president and CEO of Harris Disaster Recovery Inc. is recognized as a leader in information technology management and disaster recovery. Mr. Harris co-founded CRISIS Magazine, one of the first disaster recovery publications in the industry.

Outsourcing Risk and Business Continuity

Damon Arber
Damon Arber & Assc.

Outsourcing with a service supplier is not necessarily a marriage made in heaven. There is potential for the same business continuity problems that the originating corporation faced prior to outsourcing. These problems must be addressed to avoid failure in service to clients and customers, embarrassment to the corporation, and to comply with state, provincial, federal and industry regulators. The presentation addresses the types of risks the corporation faces and what should be done to mitigate the effect of the impact of the risks. It also addresses actions the corporation should take to protect against failure of the service provider or the delivery chain, and to recover from such failures.
Mr. Arber, MBA, FICB, MBCI, is principal of his own consulting group, Damon Arber and Associates, specializing in operations and operational business continuity planning, and in the non-financial audit of existing plans.
