This blog written in honor of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Who and YouTube’s Geek Week.
If you can’t travel back in time, you better know you can recover your data.
In BBC America's series "Doctor Who," the Doctor has the ability to travel through time in space in a device called the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space). He simply adjusts the Timey-Wimey knobs and buttons and can go anywhere at any time.
Do you have a TARDIS? I didn’t think so. In that case, you need the ability to roll the clock backwards to any point and time and pull your data back from the abyss. Due to
the lack of a TARDIS, STORServer can provide you with that ability.
A STORServer Backup Appliance, powered by IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, allows you to open the restore panel and choose the date and time you want to recover to. Sounds simple, but most vendors do not have a true “point in time” recovery built into their product.
It really should be simple. Choose the date, hour and minute, and the STORServer will restore your system as it looked at that time.
While the TARDIS does offer some features that we do not, such as the ability to travel to different worlds, it also costs a lot more. Oh, and you are not a Time Lord.
It’s all about the recovery. Call me and let’s talk. Not just about the Doctor but how you can roll back time.
