I have the certification to prove it.

But, based on what I do, I also am an Enterprise

Back in the last century I worked for a company (Leslie Controls) that made valves for navies. Small valves (1/4-inch) and large valves (16-inch), two-way valves and three way valves. Some of the valves were used to launch planes off carriers; some were used to submerge - and surface - submarines.

Bottom line, the valves had to work.

The other day I walked through the doors where I labor and saw a sign which read

So I didn't meet my ambitious goal of one blog per week... Well, in my defense it didn't really make good sense. After one week, I had little more than I did when I first wrote the blog. The second week was kind of the same. By the third week I was kind of frustrated. What is common in the sports world is often taboo in business.

The terrible topic: Succession

For Business Continuity planners, it is a topic that must be addressed.

Carefully.

No Longer a Hairsplitting Matter

About a year ago, as I was plying my trade as a contract consultant with a nearby pharmaceutical company, I was contacted by a recruiter for a BIG company. He said my credentials, posted on the major job search websites, caught his eye and that I should be of interest to his client. I was interviewed by phone with one of the practice leaders, then the practice executive. In both conversations,

“Spending $1 million a copy for something that doesn’t seem to be a real threat may not be the best use of the country’s money,” said ATA spokesman David Castelveter. 'There has not been a commercial aircraft in a non-combat zone shot down' by a shoulder-fired missile. The ATA has another solution: better airport perimeter security. "

Hello out there and thanks for reading. As you might have guessed, I am new to BC and eager to learn. I recently transferred into the newly-created Business Continuity Planner position at my company knowing very little about the field. According to my new boss, I was chosen because of my background with the company which consists of four years as a software developer spread over two of our three
