Here is a look at the pre- and post-conference courses and workshops offered by the BCI:


Pre-Conference: BCI Foundation: this course is designed as a first step for newcomers to the subject of BC and for those for whom BC may be a part of their role or responsibilities who need to have a good understanding of the subject.

Pre-Conference: ISO 22301 Lead Auditor Workshop: this workshop will teach you how to align your BCM program to the requirements of ISO 22301. You’ll gain an understanding of the key practices of a business continuity management system for organizations of all sizes and the essential elements of the following standards: ISO 22301, ISO 22313, ISO 19011, ISO 17022.

Saturday March 29 (8:30 - 5:00), Sunday March 30 (8:00 - 11:00), Cost $795

Post-Conference: The BCI Good Practice Guidelines Course and Certificate of the BCI (CBCI) Examination: the BCI Good Practices Guidelines training course is a three day, instructor led class which teaches the methods, techniques and approaches used by Business Continuity professionals worldwide to develop, implement and maintain and effective Business Continuity Management program and improve organizational resilience, as described in the BCI.

Wednesday April 2 (1:30 - 5:30), Thursday April 3 (8:30 - 5:00), Friday April 4 (8:30 - 5:00), Saturday April 5 (8:30 - 12:30), Optional CBCI Exam Saturday April 5 (1:30 - 4:30), Cost for Class Only $2,156 (with the CBCI Exam post class $2,656)

Post-Conference: Business Impact Analysis (BIA) Training: this specialist course is designed for BC professionals who are required to undertake a BIA in their organization and want to enhance their skills and technique for this essential component of their organization’s Business Continuity Management program.

Thursday April 3 (8:30 - 5:00), Friday April 4 (8:30 - 5:00), Cost $1,200

Post-Conference: Crisis and Incident Management: this course is designed for senior managers who are responsible for managing an incident at tactical and strategic levels or for individuals who are part of the Incident Management Team.

Post-Conference: Writing Business Continuity Plans: this course is for BC professionals who are tasked with writing Business Continuity plans for their organization. This course gives practical guidance on how to develop and write a set of strategic, tactical and operational BC plans as part of the Incident Response Structure that forms a key part of the BCM Lifecycle.

The BCI North America Awards will be awarded at Spring World 2014 - these awards recognize the outstanding contribution of business continuity professionals and organizations living in or operating in the North America Region, including USA and Canada.
