More than 1,200 attendees joined expert speakers and exhibitors for a total of 1,700 people at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina for the Disaster Recovery Journal Fall World 2007 conference Sept. 16-19.
"We had to close registration in San Diego for the third year in a row," said Bob Arnold, vice president of Disaster Recovery Journal. "The show was an overwhelming success."
Conference sessions featured a wide variety of topics, including the comprehensive Sarbanes-Oxley Act with co-author Sen. Paul Sarbanes of Maryland.
"We would like to thank all of our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees," said Arnold.
IBM was the gold sponsor of Fall World 2007, sponsoring the Monday Night Hospitality at SeaWorld.
"This was the first time we had an off-site hospitality," said Arnold. "IBM pulled off a great event and all of our attendees had a fantastic time."
Citrix, Forsythe, Hewlett-Packard, SunGard and WebEx served as silver sponsors. eBRP, ESI, MessageOne and Varolli were all bronze sponsors of Fall World 2007.
Co-sponsors included: Asigra, Avalution, COOP Systems, Dell, Deloitte, eVault, Frankfurt Data Center, Iron Mountain, and Xiotech. Sentigy sponsored the Mock Disaster while Rentsys sponsored the Cyber City. FedEx Custom Critical is the official transportation sponsor of DRJ conferences. DRI International and PPBI are non-profit sponsors of the conference.
The exhibit hall was filled to capacity, with more than 90 service providers manning 110 booths. Tim Comin and Tom Gill each won a two night stay at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and $500 in the exhibit hall attendance prize drawings.
Bruce Phalen won the $500 attendance prize drawing while Lou Langley and Katy Hurst each won $250. All three attendees also won a free pass to a future DRJ conference.
"If you did not have a chance to join us for this great show, we will be in Orlando in the spring and back in San Diego in the fall of 2008," said Arnold.
DRJ will hold its 38th conference March 30-April 2, 2008, in Orlando, Fla. For more information on Spring World 2008, see pages 79-84.
