A well-trained Crisis Management Team (CMT) is critical to manage the many threats facing our companies today. Clearly identifying how they are organized, what their roles and responsibilities are, how incidents are assessed, and how it all comes together when the team and plan are activated is the hallmark of a fully-functional team and program. An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is critical for effective management of an event. It allows for command, control, and communication, and also helps to prevent the formation of “silos” that commonly develop in an emergency environment. The Business Impact Assessment (BIA) is an essential component of any solid Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery program. It lays the foundation for all of the components that follow in the creation or update of a comprehensive program, and there is no tool that provides a better view of what needs to be included in your strategies and plans, as well as what does not need to be included.

This course will take you through the fundamentals of a solid BIA. It includes What are the MUST have components, The Art of getting accurate, useful information, and How to interpret the information you get, and much more. We will finish with a review of a sample BIA Report and questionnaire.

Participants will leave with an understanding of how the BIA is used, essential components, potential traps and how to avoid them, and what to do next to get your BIA, and your BC/DR program up and running fast.
