The American Red Cross in Riverside County (CA) has been asked by businesses in Banning, CA to do a seminar on business continuity planning. Since ARC and ACP are partners, I believe we owe them a positive reponse. I'd like to arrange for a few volunteers to join me in planning such an event - perhaps a half-day seminar - between now and the end of the year, if possible.
If any ACP members, presumably from the LA, Orange County and San Diego Chapters would drop a note, or E-mail me (see LA Chapter link @ the ACP website), we have an opportunity to do some good by sharing our knowledge with firms who have expressed an interest.
ADDED NOTE: Upon the suggestion of a Los Angeles Chapter member, perhaps a more viable approach is for a small group of members who work for vendors supporting BC/DR planning, providing products and services, could do "generic" presentations of product and service offering "types" and a closing scomment to the effect, "Oh, by the way, I represent XYZ, and we are one of a number of firms offering these services..."
Also, this is probably only going to work is we do it on a Saturday - we all have "day jobs" - but then, consultants "between engagements" like I've been might see this as a good exposure opoprtunity...
