Meeting Minutes

The August 14,
2003 Quarterly Meeting was hosted by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) at
Research Triangle Park. The following is a brief recap of the
meeting.
Jack Holt, Manager Business Continuity Planning at GSK presented "A
Proven BCP Recipe at GlaxoSmithKline" which is an overview of the
GSK business continuity program. Presentation includes details on
their international structure, development phases, how the program
interacts with crisis management and emergency response and the
responsibilities of the local
management at each GSK site. Jack's presentation is only available

Jodi Jackson - North Carolina State Animal Response Team (SART) -
SART is a cooperative effort of many partner agencies and
organizations across the state. Jodi provided an update on the
progress of this program. NC SART is a model program for the rest
of the states primarily due to their experience and lessons learned
from Hurricane Floyd. Visit their website

Johnny Lee, Office of State Personnel, spoke on "Workplace
Violence". An informative presentation, Johnny covered crisis
management, information gathering, media management and care for
employees and family. There will be a "Domestic Violence in the
Workplace Summit" on October 30th at the Friday Center, 100 Friday
Center Drive, Chapel Hill, NC. Please visit the website for

November meeting to conduct a simulation on

BCPC has a website. Thanks to Chris Servia and Cynthia Boyd for
their efforts on this project - www.bcpcarolinas.org.
BCPC Board is discussing options on the future of the website with
respect to funding, etc. Discussions are ongoing.
A special thanks to Jack Holt for presenting as well as hosting the
meeting, and to Jodi Jackson and Johnny Lee for their presentations.
The next quarterly meeting will be in November. Details will be
