The regular General Membership Meeting
of the MidAmerica Contingency Planning Forum was held on Thursday, February 20,
2003, at the St. Louis County Emergency Operations Center, beginning at 3:00
p.m.
President Angela Swartz Peterson
welcomed everyone to the meeting and introductions around the room were made by
all. She thanked Mike Smiley and the
County Police Department for their hospitality in hosting the meeting. Angie commented the group was interested in
meeting sites, presentation topics, and speakers for future meetings. If anyone has suggestions for any of these
items, please contact one of the Board members.
Minutes of the January 16 meeting were
reviewed. Angie indicated any changes
to the minutes should be sent to Secretary Ann Bathon for inclusion.
Program Director Harlan Dolgin reviewed
the current program status of upcoming meetings.
Angie reminded everyone that annual
membership fees were due. If members or
potential members had questions related to their status, please contact
Membership Director Mike Smiley.
Librarian/Liaison Carl Brooks discussed
the work he has been doing on developing an MCPF website. He indicated that a new website link would
be provided by the next meeting.
There
being no additional new business, the meeting then moved to the featured presentation
– Credentialing
for Emergency Access to Buildings.
The featured presenter was Sgt. Vince Stehlin of the St. Louis City
Emergency Management Office.
Sgt.
Stehlin provided handouts of his presentation materials to all present. He began with a background of the work on
the credentialing project. Discussion
items included:
Ø There are
challenges of dealing with multiple departments and municipalities.
Ø The potential
exists to develop and implement a state-wide credentialing program long-term.
Ø Sgt. Stehlin
requested the attendees provide any suggestions to the program they may have to
him for review and follow-up.
Ø Personnel
interested in becoming credentialed should contact Sgt. Stehlin as indicated in
his handout material.
Vince
fielded questions from everyone. A copy
of his presentation can be obtained by contacting Secretary Bathon.
The
next General Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2003, beginning at

your Business – The Information Processing Challenge with David
