The regular general business meeting of the Mid-America Contingency Planning Forum was held at MasterCard International on Thursday, January 21, 1999, at 3:00 p.m.

President Tom Roeseler welcomed all members and guests and thanked them for attending. The agenda was briefly reviewed. The minutes of the December meeting were reviewed and approved as presented.

A discussion of the 1999 Program followed. A program of suggested topics will be included in the annual mailing. We are looking for volunteers to host any of our general membership meetings at their locations. Anyone with suggested topics or anyone wishing to speak, facilitate, or host a future meeting should contact Tim Proost, the Membership Director, at 314/955-5374. We strive to present topics driven by members' interest, both business and technical. Also, the members were encouraged to invite others within their organizations to join our group to add depth and experience to our ranks.

Tom Roeseler discussed the current membership and explained the operation of the "Membership Drive Raffle." Membership was even from December; but once the mailing goes out, renewals (and possibly new member applications) should begin coming in.

Upcoming seminars/training sessions were discussed:

- On February 4, 1999, there will be an all-day seminar on emergency preparedness at the Regal Riverfront Hotel in downtown St. Louis.

- The annual SEMA conference will be held beginning Easter Sunday 1999 at Tan-Tar-A Resort.

- Steamatic Catastrophe commented on two upcoming sessions -- 1/26/99, an Air Quality Symposium (legal) and on 2/3/99, a Drying Symposium (insurance). Call David Pollard at 314/434-4600 for more information.

These sessions offer good networking opportunities and the fees are very reasonable. Mark your calendars for these very informative sessions. To find out more about SEMA training and activities, visit their website at WWW.STATE.MO.US/SEMA//SEMAPAGE.HTM.

Other business included a review of the Bylaws still outstanding. The Board will review the final suggested changes and, after approving, will present to the general membership for final approval at the March or April meeting.

The membership brochure was highlighted by Mr. Roeseler. He commented that any members' comments or suggestions regarding the brochure would be welcomed and considered.

There were no other new topics presented for discussion; so Mr. Roeseler introduced Randy Till of MasterCard and Tim Woerther of NationsBank as the presenters. The featured topic of today's meeting was High Availability System Environments and Recovery.

The next meeting of the MCPF group will be held on Thursday, February 18, 1999, 3:00 p.m., at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Clayton. The featured topic will be Special Event Management presented by Sergeant Vince Stehlin of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
