The regular general business meeting of the Mid-America Contingency Planning Forum was held at the A. G. Edwards Emergency Operations Center on Thursday, October 15, 1998, at 3:00 p.m.

Vice President Tim Woerther welcomed all members and guests and thanked them for attending. The minutes of the September 24 meeting were not available for review.

An update on the 1998 Program took place. The December meeting will be held the first Thursday (December 3) due to the holidays. The Board is compiling a list of topics for 1999 meetings; and anyone with suggested topics or volunteers to host meetings should contact Tim Proost, the group's Program Director, at 314/955-5374.

Officer nominations for the 1999 year were requested. Anyone wishing to run for an office should contact Tim Bonno and his or her name will be placed on the ballot.

Upcoming seminars/training sessions were discussed. On February 4, 1999, there will be an all-day seminar on emergency preparedness at the Regal Riverfront Hotel in downtown St. Louis. The annual SEMA conference will be held beginning Easter Sunday 199 9 at Tan-Tar-A Resort. Mark your calendars for these two very informative sessions.

There were no new topics presented for discussion; so Tim Woerther introduced Tim Proost of A. G. Edwards as the featured speaker. Mr. Proost presented Corporate Emergency Operations Centers.

Tim presented a slide show on the development and approval process that took place within A. G. Edwards to get the present EOC operational. A. G. Edwards was planning their 6th annual recovery exercise at the EOC during the week of October 1 9. A few main points of Tim’s discussion:

Mr. Proost then proceeded to give all those in attendance a tour of his facility. Everyone felt the tour was very informative and beneficial to their understanding of emergency operations centers.

The next meeting of the MCPF group will be held on Thursday, November 19, 1998, 3:00 p.m., at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Clayton. The featured topic will be Using the Internet for Contingency Planning and Recovery presented by Tim Woerther of NationsBank and Angela Swartz of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
