Business customers to benefit from integrated, industry-leading network, colocation and cloud
ATLANTA – Cox Business today announced a strategic partnership with ViaWest, the leading colocation services provider in North America, to offer commercial customers secure fiber network connectivity along with compliant colocation and cloud infrastructure solutions. Cox Business will begin offering ViaWest’s services to customers with an initial focus on the Las Vegas, Phoenix and Southern California markets.
“Our Cox Business customers have a growing need for scalable IT infrastructure solutions that enable them to access mission critical data anytime and anywhere,” said Mark Bowser, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Cox Communications. “By partnering with ViaWest, we have an enhanced product offering that now includes a full suite of secure cloud and colocation solutions to meet the infrastructure needs of our customers.”
Earlier this year, ViaWest opened its 110,000 square foot data center in Las Vegas which earned the colocation industry’s first Tier IV design certification in North America. ViaWest plans to open its 90,000 square foot enterprise-class, multi-tenant data center facility in Phoenix early in 2014 with Cox Enterprises as its anchor tenant.
“We are thrilled to partner with Cox Business, a proven leader in technology and an organization that shares our commitment to service excellence,” said Nancy Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, ViaWest. “We believe this partnership offers businesses a unique combination of solutions that meet the demands of an ever-changing technology landscape.”
Both ViaWest and Cox Business are privately held and hold the same philosophy when it comes to delivering world-class customer service. ViaWest’s local data centers mean reduced latency for data transfers and synchronization, while Cox Business’ local service and support means customers get what they need when they need it.
Cox Business is focused on building a leading portfolio of cloud-based services for commercial customers. Earlier this year, Cox Business launched IP Centrex, a cloud-based, business-class phone system designed to fuel productivity and maintain financial controls in one reliable communications platform. Soon after, Cox Business announced PayLeap, a cloud-based merchant and card processing service designed to integrate in-store, online and mobile payment processing into one managed service.
ViaWest is the leading colocation provider in North America. We enable businesses to leverage both their existing IT infrastructure and emerging cloud resources to deliver the right balance of cost, scalability and security. Our data center services include a comprehensive suite of fully compliant environments, premium wholesale and retail colocation, private and public clouds and managed services.
