Holistic service meets needs of growing, complex infrastructures
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and a global leader in maximizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, today announced a cooling control optimization service offering that enables data centers to meet the growing demands for increased capacity and cost reduction through improved efficiencies. The service helps configure data center precision cooling systems to optimize performance for customers’ specific applications by eliminating unit fighting, improving load sharing and reducing energy consumption.
Cooling control optimization, alongside recent advancements in thermal management, is part of Emerson Network Power’s goal to deliver more holistic solutions for controlling and managing the data center environment. Cooling system performance is analyzed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to determine how cooling units perform as an integrated system, and how they support the entire data center infrastructure.
“Cooling systems have become increasingly complex over the years, moving from single-unit rooms to data centers with multiple systems that work together to provide cooling to the critical space,” said Omar McKee, marketing director for Emerson Network Power’s Liebert Services business in North America. “The increased complexity, along with the constant changes in the data center environment including frequent changes in load requirements and external weather conditions, make it even more important to have a way to adjust to these changes in order to operate efficiently. We’ve found that Emerson’s unified cooling system with intelligent control capability provides that added flexibility to help our customers realize improved efficiency by 10 to 20 percent.”
Emerson Network Power’s cooling control optimization service includes end-user consultation, set points configuration, control and setting consultation and configuration of optimized aisle control to help data center managers define their unique cooling needs and determine an actionable plan for addressing them. This service offering is available nationwide.
