Business Continuity Sr. Specialist (5/14/12)

Summary: Support at a senior-level, IT and business interfacing activities pertaining to requirements, design, implementation, and administration of Business Continuity program    and related services.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the organization's business and Technology systems along with  the related Business Continuity industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of industry trends’ and the correlation to technology platforms, focusing on process analysis and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions related to current and future business environments.
  • Assist with daily business continuity operations and lead general administrative support to the assigned IT organization;
  • Assist in creating the annual business continuity plan for the IT functional area, as well as the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT business continuity strategies and plans.
  • Create process change by integrating new processes with existing processes and communicate the changes to the senior leadership and the Business Systems team impacted.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal resources to understand new functionality within an application, as well as provide recommendations on functionality enhancements to support business continuity objectives.
  • As appropriate, may partner with technical solution providers to ensure optimal delivery.
  • Directs, facilitates, and implements the company’s business continuity services and applications for the purpose ensuring a sustainable business continuity capability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the team and help drive key projects and programs.
  • Develops IT and business continuity strategies for leveraging organizational procedures and processes.
  • Conducts risk and gap analysis.
  • Maintain relationships with senior business and technical teams.
  • Propose and implement effective advanced solutions based on business requirements while analyzing and evaluating the impact of current processes/business.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Education: Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience

Experience: 7- 10 yrs

Skills: Demonstrates leading edge knowledge of concepts and theories in own discipline.

Certifications: CBCP (certified business continuity planner), preferred
