Emerson Network Power Introduces High Capacity, High Efficiency Liebert® eXL UPS to Help Data Centers Maximize Efficiency, Achieve Lower Total Cost of Ownership

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and a global leader in maximizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, today introduced the Liebert® eXL 800kVA/kW uninterruptible power supply (UPS), which supports high operating efficiency, lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and intelligent operations. The UPS is available in North America, Central America and South America for 480V, 60 Hz applications.

The Liebert eXL UPS is a large transformer-free, single module system ideal for colocation facilities and large enterprise data centers interested in maximizing efficiency and lowering total cost of ownership. It delivers efficiency greater than 96% at full load in double conversion mode, with a potential savings of up to $12,000 per year over competitive technologies. The Liebert UPS offers a footprint that is up to 10 percent smaller than competitive systems while delivering 17 percent higher power density per square foot. The unity power factor rating of the Liebert eXL UPS enables it to provide more usable power to address computing demand for modern IT loads. The Liebert eXL UPS can therefore  accommodate IT loads without derating, eliminating the need to oversize and enabling users to measure their true utilization and available capacity with confidence.

“While high availability is still a priority for most data centers, a growing number of large enterprise data centers and colocation facilities are looking for the most efficient UPS systems that can reduce both operational and capital expenditures,” said Peter Panfil, vice president, global power, Emerson Network Power. “With high operating efficiency, smaller footprint, higher power density, optimal power delivery, scalable architecture and lower installation cost, the Liebert eXL 800kVA UPS is an ideal solution for data centers where maximum efficiency through low TCO might take priority.”

The Liebert eXL UPS features many communications and reporting capabilities that improve system availability. A large integrated touch screen control with user-friendly instructions reduces likelihood of user error. The system is enabled with Emerson’s LIFE Technology with remote diagnostic and real-time communication, which enables proactive maintenance and a condensed service cycle, resulting in a decreased Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and improving Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). It also has out-of-the-box compatibility with Emerson Network Power’s data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system, the Trellis platform, and is compatible with the Liebert Nform and Liebert SiteScan monitoring and reporting systems.
