Information Security, BYOD, and Organizational Behavior

Effective information security and privacy consulting requires a highly specialized skill set and a wealth of experience. The challenges presented by the technological advances and methodologies are matched by the complexities involved in the implementation of security policies. Creating a comprehensive security policy is daunting, and for many organizations enforcement is ineffective. Effective information security requires a culture change. A customer I recently collaborated with expressed the frustration that often accompanies adopting a security policy. He said, “I am looking at various tools and technologies to address our regulatory concerns. Any enforcement or policy that requires change of behavior is a hard sell in our organization.” This is what we hear from many of our clients and industry professionals.
