More than 1,400 attendees, expert speakers and exhibitors gathered at Walt Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando for the Disaster Recovery Journal Spring World 2003 conference March 30 - April 2. “Of those 1,400 people, we had 1,100 paid registrants,” said Bob Arnold, vice president of Disaster Recovery Journal. “I think it shows the strength and the importance of business continuity. With all the elements against us – the economy, the war, and everything else – for us to still pull in 1,400 people is a testament to the industry.” Hewlett-Packard was the gold sponsor of DRJ’s 28th conference in 15 years (see sidebar). Co-sponsors included: Booz Allen Hamilton, FedEx Custom Critical, Forsythe Solutions, MessageOne, Sprint, SunGard Availability Services, DRI International and PPBI. E-Team sponsored the mock disaster while Agility Recovery Solutions sponsored the Cyber Café.
