Q & A: An Interview with Eric Borenstein and Brad Kirkpatrick of the VSO

Eric Borenstein (eborenstein@virginiasymphony.org) is president and executive director of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. He holds a degree in business administration with a concentration in arts management from the State University of New York. His career has included posts with Jimi Hendrix’ Electric Lady Recording Studio and Clive Davis at Arista Records as well as a decade-long position with Barry Manilow in New York and Los Angeles. His orchestral management career includes positions as marketing director and director of regional development positions with the Buffalo Philharmonic, followed by executive director positions with the Cape Cod Symphony and the Erie Philharmonic. Brad Kirkpatrick (bkirkpatrick@virginiasymphony.org) is the chief operating officer of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Houston. His prior experience includes positions include chief operating officer with IntraNexus, assistant vice president with Amerigroup, and controller with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
