Prove It: Two Steps to Ensuring the Recoverability of Critical Enterprise Application Data

In this presentation, Senior Vice President of 21st Century Software, Rebecca M. Levesque, will address the seemingly divergent goals and requirements of redundancy and recovery. She’ll introduce the two primary strategies—real-time monitoring and simulated recovery—that address key recovery challenges and deliver business value. She’ll explain why even the best of the redundancy-focused technologies on the market can not truly help ensure recoverability. And, she’ll uncover the exposures that some technologies can open up in your recoverability when inappropriately applied.

Rebecca M. Levesque is Senior Vice President of 21st Century Software, Inc., a company dedicated to bringing intelligence and automation to an organization's data protection and recovery process. 21st Century Software has been providing this unique service to the Mainframe, UNIX and Linux environments since 1992.

Rebecca is an exuberant and passionate speaker on the topics of enterprise backup and recovery. She draws on her experience helping hundreds of companies develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, particularly around recovering the critical information they’ll immediately require after disasters and events of all kinds.

Rebecca notes that her observations have led to her formulating some best practices for developing ongoing storage management and recovery strategies that help ensure organizations are able to recover their critical application information.

The development of advanced storage technologies introduces exciting possibilities to provide higher levels of data availability and improve user productivity. Storage virtualization, mirroring and other redundancy strategies are helping companies answer compliance and business operational challenges, but also increase the exposures due to distance, data loss and human error.

Rebecca has addressed these kinds of challenges at individual client organizations and through many trade journals, seminars and user conferences throughout North America. By helping companies focus on Application-Driven Data Management strategies, Rebecca has helped many executives, storage managers, and recovery planning professionals leverage their existing storage technology investments while ensuring that they can recover data and files required by critical enterprise applications.
