Disaster Recovery Journal welcomed the end of “The Great Recession” at Spring World 2010, March 21-24, at Walt Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort.

“We are seriously pleased with the increase in attendance for Spring World 2010,” said DRJ President Bob Arnold. “It is the first significant increase we have seen in nearly two years and that is truly positive. We realize the struggle that many have had in travel budgets or even maintaining their own positions at an organization and this jump is great news.”

DRJ’s 42nd conference saw an increase of nearly 100 attendees from last year, posting 850 registered attendees with more than 1,100 in total attendance.

“The speakers and agenda are always top-notch at a DRJ event,” said Arnold. “Spring World was no different as presenters shared with the attendees the latest trends and solutions to help with any crisis your organization may come across. The exhibit hall was also packed with cutting edge products and services to help the attendees achieve the ultimate goal of creating a truly resilient organization.

“We would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping us pull off another spectacular show. The Monday Night event, sponsored by Recovery Point, was incredible. The theme was Your Ticket to Ride and featured an incredible Beatles tribute band that gave the attendees a chance to rock the night away with the band that changed history.”

Many attendees confirmed “1964 The Tribute” as the best Beatles tribute band around. “Best party ever at DRJ,” said one attendee. “The best-kept industry secret (Recovery Point) is now out. You guys are creating a big buzz here.”

Other conference sponsors included IBM, Pathway Systems, SunGard, Atlantic.Net, Dell, eBRP, Emprimus, Forsythe, Booz Allen Hamilton, COOP Systems, Deloitte, Hewlett-Packard, KPMG, Marsh, MIR3, Pitney Bowes, Verizon, Mail-Gard, Rentsys, Forrester, FedEx, DRI International, and PPBI.

DRJ Founder and CEO Richard L. Arnold, CBCP, signed copies of his autobiography “My Remarkable Journey” throughout the conference.

Patricia Riggins won the $500 attendance prize drawing while Marco Arista and Stephen Motzko each won $250. All three attendees also won a free pass to a future DRJ conference.

“We are already deep into planning for the Fall World 2010 in beautiful San Diego. Hope to see you there. The theme for the Fall show will be Conquering the Tough Challenges.”

DRJ’s Fall World 2010 will take place Sept. 19-22, in San Diego, Calif. For more information, click here .
