Pre/Post Conference Courses

Make the most of your travel budget and plan to attend a pre- or post-conference workshop. These courses are conveniently bundled before and after the conference, allowing you to gain extra training while onsite at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

Each course requires separate registration and fees. Browse the workshops that are available. You are sure to find something that fits your needs. These courses offer a chance delve deeply into a subject and emerge with new awareness and new skills. Some courses offer the opportunity for testing and certification. All courses qualify for CEU points.

BCLE 2000

The Professional Practices for Business Continuity Professionals are defined as the skills, knowledge and procedures BC professionals need to lead a BC planning effort. This 5-day course includes 32 hours of instruction followed by the Qualifying Exam. Instructors offer a fast-paced overview of DRI International's business continuity planning model and delineate the knowledge, skills and procedures needed to effectively execute each stage. Instructors present a case study exercise and other select exercises depending on the experience in the room. Upon completion of the course participants will 1) be reminded of the BC planning stages and requirements to effectively implement each one; 2) confirm their understanding of industry terminology; 3) learn recent trends, and 4) be able to articulate the roles of the BC planner, business components and executive management in developing, testing and maintaining BC plans. These are essential elements of the DRI International Qualifying Examination. Course: Days 1 – 4, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Qualifying Exam: Day 5, 8:30am – 12:00 noon Registration Fee: $2,650; includes continental breakfast, lunch, and occasional refreshment breaks.

BCP 501

The BCP 501 is a rapid business continuity planning refresher course covering the Professional Practices for Business Continuity Professionals in preparation for the DRI International Qualifying Exam. This 3-day course features 16 hours of instruction followed by the Qualifying Examination. Instructors take a fast-paced approach to the Professional Practices with emphasis on BC planning and the knowledge, skills and procedures needed to effectively implement each step of the planning process. Course: Days 1 – 2, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Qualifying Exam: Day 3, 8:30 am – 12:00 noon Registration Fee: $1,550; includes continental breakfast, lunch, and occasional refreshment breaks

BCP-MET

BCP-MET: Business Continuity Metrics Overview This one-day session will provide an overview and solid examples that assist the BCM professional implementing a metrics program. It is targeted to all BCM professionals looking to implement or update their metrics program. Reporting is the linchpin of the Exercise, Audit & Maintenance for your plan. Sound metrics help the BCM professional to communicate BCM program functionality and capability. The use of metrics standardizes the communication of program status, where exposures remain, and those areas that are performing to plan. The seminar will provide: • Guidelines for defining program milestones, relevant output, and expected results. • A thorough presentation of metrics in general: common metric tracking processes, how they are tracked, how often and what they represent. • Strategies for understanding your audience: who they are, why should they care and creating metrics that resonate with them. • Understanding how deficiencies can be used to your advantage: how they lead to success of the program, provide energy for change and how to avoid becoming "Red Averse."
