What are the Top-3 threats to organizations today?
  • Not exercising ER/CM/BC/DR plans and teams regularly
  • Information security and cyber protection vulnerabilities and failures
  • Lack of education and preparation for workplace violence

What areas of BC/DR do you think organizations should be investing in to secure their resiliency for the next 3-5 years? (Where should they put their money?)
  • Automated tools for BC/DR planning and Incident management
  • Emergency notification tools
  • Expanded integration between BC/DR teams and Project Management teams to collaborate on risk management and mitigation planning for non-emergency/business-as-usual initiatives - goal is to build more risk awareness and situational awareness across the entire organization (not just awareness with the EM/CM/BC/DR teams) with everyday work, responsibilities and duties - That's going beyond reactive planning to building in proactive resilience!

Would you consider the influx of Millennials with the exiting of baby boomers to be a challenge to the technology changes in the resiliency industry? (i.e.: loss of knowledge Vs incoming training needs)

It is an opportunity to not only pass on critical "tribal knowledge" but to capture that wisdom through cross-training, manage that tribal knowledge with new technology, and letting the Millennials take that knowledge and the organization's capability to a new level.
