BT2-04 Editorial

What are the Top-3 threats to organizations today?

  • Data breaches or ransomware
  • Unplanned cloud services or it downtime
  • Natural disasters

What areas of BC/DR do you think organizations should be investing in to secure their resiliency for the next 3-5 years? (Where should they put their money?)

  • Information security management
  • Training of employees regarding incident management and crisis response.
  • Scenario based testing and simulations, including conducting tests where all response personnel may be in various sites (not face to face).

Would you consider the influx of Millennials with the exiting of baby boomers to be a challenge to the technology changes in the resiliency industry? (i.e.: loss of knowledge Vs incoming training needs)

I do not see this as a challenge, as long as it’s acknowledged and leveraged with a perspective of strength and creation of a partnerships. Both generations need to keep up with the changes in technology. Both bring a lot to the table, as baby boomers have knowledge and experience, and millennials tend to be flexible and adaptable to their environments with a hunger to learn. These aspects when coupled together, create a successful crisis management response profile. As the global treat landscape shifts, both groups will need to quickly adapt and adjust the way business continuity and resiliency programs are managed in their companies.
