MIT announces date for its 2013 Business Continuity Course!

MIT Announces Date For Its 2013 Business Continuity Course!

MIT Professional Education is pleased to announce its professional short course: “Crisis Management and Business Continuity” for 2013. Join us at the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA on July 15 - 19, 2013.

Our comprehensive program provides up-to-date assessments and knowledge on issues that affect companies and government agencies - terrorism, pandemic, cyber security, communications, news media - from the authorities involved with these efforts. Program lecturers are knowledgeable and experienced industry, academic, and government agency experts. Participants also have many networking opportunities to interact with the lecturers and with their peers.

This program is for the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Management, and Crisis Management practitioner or responder as well for the executive who oversees these disciplines. Both novices and experienced personnel will benefit greatly from this program.

New sessions for 2013: An insider’s roundtable on businesses’ recovery and government response to Hurricane Sandy. Also, the link between Ops Research and BCP.

The program offers an effective combination of lecture, case studies, field trip, and class participation activities. Many case studies of actual crisis situations are used to emphasize and enhance the concepts. Several interactive class activities provide additional hands-on experience. Students will also practice what is learned: the course concludes with a crisis exercise in which students take active roles in a simulated disaster, including a realistic news media briefing.

Register by June 15 and save 10% on program tuition. Please reference priority code DRJ10.

This is the fourth year of our extremely successful program. For more information, click the banner or click here.

Free Webinar - Planning – Its about Information (Not Just Documents)

Join Us Wednesday, January 30, 2013 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST

If you subscribe to the theory that BCM is all about creating Plans, you’re missing the most valuable contribution your BCM Program can make to your organization:  Effective Incident Response.

Your organization’s capability to respond to any disruption of its operations depends on access to critical information, enabling Incident Managers to make informed decisions quickly. If your Planning process produces that critical information (in addition to Plans), your organization vastly improves its ability to respond to disruptions.

Learn how your current Planning processes (including your BIA and Risk Assessments) can produce the information – not just raw data – that Incident Managers will need to assure they can respond to any Incident effectively and efficiently.
