Crisis Coach and Social Media Risk Impact

Jim Satterfield, Firestorm

How you answer the question “What should we do now?” can have far reaching implications for your business. Your company will need assistance that focuses on the human, operational, reputational and financial impacts of such a disaster or crisis. Making decisions in a crisis is a challenge to any organization. Managers are rarely trained in crisis management and crisis communications. Today, the way we prepare for and respond to crises is completely different. Social media is a game changer. Today’s continuity plans need to address social media risk as part of an all hazards approach.

James (Jim) W. Satterfield, president/COO of Firestorm, has experience as president, CEO, and COO of various public and private companies.

Leveraging Horizon Scanning to Deliver Greater Supply Chain Resiliency

Steve Mellish, FBCI

Steve Mellish, FBCI

Horizon scanning provides BC professionals with information on near term threats and longer term trends that can shape future BC capability requirements. Drawing upon BCI primary research, this presentation will consider supply chain resiliency specifically and the trends which are driving consistently high levels of disruption as well as the emerging threats coming from outside the traditional domain of business continuity planning. The presentation will ask delegates to consider how the profession can rise to the challenge and provide their organization with clear indicators on supply chain readiness and build confidence in the resilience of key supply chains.

Steve is currently a Director of Mellish Risk & Resilience Limited, which specializes in risk and business continuity management with an emphasis on cultural acceptance and leadership behaviors. He became a Fellow of the BCI (Business Continuity Institute) in 2000. In December 2012, Steve was elected to the position of Chairman of the BCI for the second time (previously 2004-2006).
