COOP Presents at DRJ Fall DRJ Conference

Automating the New ISO 22301 Global BCMS Standard


HERNDON, Va. – the developer of the most advanced Business Continuity Management (BCMS) software package in the world, is sponsoring a special presentation at DRJ Fall World in San Diego on September 22nd. The time and place are 4 PM on the Aqua Level of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel.

"The subject will be on our ground-breaking work supporting the automation of ISO 22301, the only BCM standard that is both auditable and global."

The presentation, entitled Automating the New ISO 22301 Global BCMS Standard, provides software-related details required by the methodology. The thousands of ISO standards all result from work by experts in their fields and are blessed by 160+ countries, with organizations able to benefit from global acceptance, good practices, and management experience. The session at DRJ explores six major program management areas where software can be exceptionally helpful for the new standard, as follows:

  • BIA and RA analysis (8.2.2, 8.2.3)
  • Resources and planning (8.3.2, 8.4.4) 
  • Testing and exercise management (8.5) 
  • Incident response/communications (8.4.2, 8.4.3)
  • Audit processes (9.2)
  • Corrective actions (10.1)

The presenter, Chris Alvord, is CEO and Founder of COOP Systems, with credentials including CBCP, MBCI, OCEG Risk, and ISO 22301 Lead Auditor. After senior roles in consulting and technology for 25+ years, Chris Alvord started COOP Systems in 2002.  He has designed an industry-leading Web-based BCM software package, led numerous large-scale projects, been a Certified Business Continuity Teacher, and holds certifications form DRI International and the Business Continuity Institute.   Mr. Alvord has presented, published and been quoted in numerous industry venues. He has a BA from Harvard College, MBA from Harvard Business School, and has done doctoral course work at Virginia Tech.
