Corporate Mobile Worker Safety

Assumptions, Insights, and Expectations Businesses must have a comprehensive strategy in place to protect their employees – wherever they happen to be working. Research firm IDC forecasted that 72 percent of the U.S. workforce would be made up of mobile workers by 2020, meaning companies across industries will face new challenges to keep their employees safe as the number of those who work from home, from the road or at client offices. Enterprises need to take proactive measures to uphold their “duty of care” and ensure the safety of their mobile, lone, and traveling workers given the alarming frequency of natural disasters, active shooter situations, and other location-based critical events. We polled security, risk management, business continuity, and emergency management leaders at more than 400 organizations to get a temperature check on where the average business stood in effectively protecting its mobile workforce. The goal of the research was to gain intelligence
