DRJ Spring 2019 | Sunday, March 24, 2019 | Sunday Workshop Session 1 | 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

In her “Birds of a Feather” workshop session, Robbie Atabaigi will provide an excellent networking opportunity on the first day of the Orlando conference. Attendees will share expectations and challenges they have experienced with other attendees in similar industries.

“This is a great forum for collaborating, learning, sharing, and getting to know your fellow attendees,” says Atabaigi.

Atabaigi will begin this session with an overview of the workshop approach to the session. Attendees will choose which industry round table they prefer, and the experienced co-facilitators will guide the discussions. During the second half, co-facilitators will share highlights from their table discussions.

She also enjoys sitting face-to-face to discuss current events and challenges with other professionals.

“You get out of the session as much as you contribute,” Atabaigi says. She likes to give the attendees the opportunity to walk away with leading practices to mature and optimize their business continuity and resiliency programs.

“This will be a great way to confirm what is happening within the overall BCM industry,” Atabaigi says.

In previous sessions, attendees have shared obstacles they have encountered and solutions to how they overcame them. Often, these solutions have resonated with other attendees because they have been real-world solutions instead of theories.

“We learn from each other,” adds Atabaigi, adding that a recent quote that she found certainly applies to his upcoming presentation and approaches in business continuity and resiliency: “old goals, new techniques.”

Atabaigi, lead specialist with KPMG LLP’s Southeast cyber practice in Atlanta, has 33 years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery. She has also worked in developing and evaluating many aspects of enterprise data management, including emergency preparedness and response, crisis management, disaster recovery, and business continuity and resiliency for prominent international companies.

With MBCP, CISA, and MBCI certifications, Atabaigi is also certified as a lead implementer and has applied for the Certificate in Business Continuity Planning for Auditors.

“I have a passion for business continuity and resiliency,” she says, “and I love to share my knowledge with others.”
