When there’s an act of violence in the workplace, the first reaction is one of stunned surprise. The perpetrator seemed so nice—how did we not see this coming? As the dust settles and the impacts are measured, invariably certain facts or “tells” are revealed. Perhaps the person has anger issues, a history of domestic violence or provocative social media posts. Maybe their annual reviews indicate a difficulty controlling their temper, or they’ve expressed views that threaten or alienate coworkers.

While none of these factors on their own indicate a person who could turn the corner and cause real injury to others, they do paint a picture of an individual who may need additional support and a watchful eye. Are there any reliable danger signals? How can you spot someone who could pose a real danger, and what can you do about it?

In this webinar, security expert Cheryl Carmel will explore the latest statistics and insights about those behind workplace violence. She’ll provide tips for training staff to recognize pre-attack indicators and suggest ways for them to express concerns about coworker behavior. Most importantly, Cheryl will explain when it’s time to sound the alert, and how to manage and mitigate violence if and when it occurs. Join us for this timely and informative webinar.
