Tragic headlines, graphic footage, survivor accounts, specialized training, legal precedence and now the NFPA 3000 Provisional Standard for ASHER. Organizations must evolve this complex conversation while answering;

1) is our plan inclusive and informed with perspectives from law enforcement and EMS?
2) will anything more than awareness training incite employee fear?
3) how can we best prepare individuals confronted with an attacker?

This presentation reviews various perspectives while seeking answers to those questions and a balanced approach to preparedness.

Presented by Jay Williams. Mr Williams is a Vice President in Enterprise Security for M&T Bank. He has 11 years of experience with disaster and business recovery planning, corporate emergency response and third-party due diligence. Jay is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he worked in early warning systems management. He is the current chapter President for the Eastern Great Lakes ACP and values the opportunity to fortify communities through unified planning and preparedness initiatives.
